Adam Randall – Founder, CEO & Portfolio Manager
BEng (Aero), PhD

Adam is a portfolio manager and is responsible for all aspects of portfolio construction, investment research and continuous improvement. Adam is also responsible for the management of the business. Adam has a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and spent 6 years at Boeing in aerodynamics and flight simulation.

In 2006 Adam transitioned to equity investing at VFMC, quickly becoming Portfolio Manager. He researched & developed smart beta and quantitative strategies, managing Australian Large & Small Caps. After six years at VFMC Adam was approached to join Realindex as a Portfolio Manager, co-managing Australian Large & Small, Global and Emerging Markets. After 12 months Adam also became Head of Research. In 2014 Adam joined IFM Investors as an Investment Director to build out their global equities and smart beta capability. This included researching and managing an Australian Small Caps smart beta strategy and co-managing Global Index portfolios.

In late 2017 Adam established Blue Orbit Asset Management, where he was joined in early 2018 by Damien Green, Megan Talmage and Julie Andrews. Adam also serves as a founding board member of Blue Orbit Asset Management.

Megan Talmage – Co-Founder, Executive Director & Portfolio Manager
LLB, BComm, CFA

Megan is a portfolio manager, and is responsible for portfolio construction and implementation, trade execution and analysis, and research.

Megan is a CFA Charterholder and CIPM Certificant.

Megan was previously an institutional equities trader specialising in small and micro-cap Australian equities trading at PatersonsSecurities. At IOOF QuantPlus, Megan managed Australian, global developed and emerging markets factor based strategies, together with an FX hedging overlay.

In 2014, Megan moved to IFM Investors to oversee the setup of the new Global Equities capability. She was the primary portfolio manager and trader for the global optimised index strategies, and co-managed the Australian Small Caps portfolio.

Lewis Bearman – COO

Lewis brings over 30 years of financial services experience. He has held a variety of senior roles. Most recently he spent 5 years at Prodigy Investment Partners where he was a founding director and COO building a multi-boutique fund manager. Previous to this he spent 11 years at Perennial Investment Partners (2003 to 2014), including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Lewis spent 17 years with County Investment Management (later becoming INVESCO).

Lewis has held senior positions in operations, funds management, and various other teams. . Lewis is also Non-Executive Chair of the Qualitas Securities Trustee Board, and, passionate about community involvement, currently Chair of the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) having been on the Board for 6 years.

Damien Green – Non-Executive Chairman
BA, MBA

Damien is a non-executive member of the board and is the current chairman.  As chairman, he is responsible for governance and business strategy. Damien has previously held roles as the head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management in Australia, head of Institutional Clients at BT Investment Management and Rothschild Australia Asset Management. He is currently the head of Australia and Asia at Independent Franchise Partners, LLP and serves on the Australia Committee of Human Rights Watch.

Liza Whitmore, Director

Liza is Chief Executive Officer of Costa Asset Management and has been leading CAM since 2011. Previously she held a senior management role with the Costa Group having begun working with the Costa Family in 2002. Her experience includes investment strategy, financial management, accounting and finance. Liza is a member of CPA Australia, holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has a Graduate Certificate in Accounting. Lisa is also the Chair of goFARM Asset Management, the manager of ASX listed Vitalharvest (VTH). 

Elizabeth Weston – Non-Executive Director
BCom, BLaw, MLaw, MBA

Elizabeth is currently Head of Investment Legal and Governance at CBUS, where she oversees legal and governance aspects of Cbus’ $50Bn direct and indirect investments across multiple asset classes and provides expert advice to management, Executives and Directors.

Previously she has held roles as General Counsel and Company Secretary at River and Mercantile plc in London, Vice-President at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Merrill Lynch in London.

Shangitha Rajendran – Portfolio Manager
BEc (Hons), MEc, CFA

Shangitha is a Portfolio Manager, responsible for all aspects of the investment process including portfolio construction, research and trade execution. She holds a Bachelor (Hons) and Masters in Economics from Monash University, is a CFA charterholder and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Prior to Blue Orbit, Shangitha was a Portfolio Manager within Vanguard’s Quantitative Equity Group (QEG), where she was responsible for the daily portfolio management and oversight of QEG’s active equity mandates operated in Australia. Having joined Vanguard in 2008 to launch Vanguard Australia’s initial suite of Exchange Traded Funds, Shangitha has worked across investments, equity trading, capital markets and product management. Prior to Vanguard, Shangitha worked at Perennial Investment Partners and the National Institute of Economic and Industry Research.

Sonia Barr – Senior Operations Analyst

Sonia is a Senior Operations Analyst and is responsible for all operations, compliance monitoring and client reporting.

After specialising in corporate actions at National Custodian Services from 2000 to 2004, Sonia joined Vanguard in 2005. During her 15 years there, she expanded her operational experience to include security pricing, trade administration, reconciliations, proxy voting, change and facilities management.

Sonia has led and coached teams through periods of significant change and growth. This includes numerous technology projects facilitating business automation, as well as globalisation of operational processes and organisation design.

With a strong focus on continual improvements to process efficiencies and risk minimisation, Sonia prides herself on providing high quality service to clients.
